May I extend a vote of thanks to Carmen Kong for her three year service to your Union as President.  Alex Streeter (1997), yes the little sister of ex-President David Streeter has agreed to step into the post until the next Union election.  Thank you Alex!

It is indeed a sad day for James Ruse to acknowledge the death of Leslie Lino – an icon of our school since 1958;  yes one year before Jim Hoskin and one year before our school was officially recognised as an Agricultural High School.  Leslie gave, and gave and gave of her time, most of which was done in a voluntary capacity, to the music and drama inclined students of our school.  How can we imagine a school musical without “Leslie”.  She will be dearly missed by those of us who thought the world of her.

Last Thursday week we celebrated the success of last years’ HSC class at our annual Awards Day.  The guest speaker was Professor Fred Watson, CEO of the Anglo Australian Observatory at Coonabarabran.  He was an outstanding speaker and he reminded me of our founding principal J.C. Hoskin.

I am interested in introducing for our students a structured leadership training program, which once completed will be recognised by a parchment certificate and the presentation of a bronze, silver or gold medallion.  Does anyone know of the existence of such a course?
